Angela E. Chamblee, D. A. Hum.
Angela E. Chamblee is from Richmond, Va. She is a graduate of Open High School, in the Richmond Public Schools’ System. When she was a teenager she started making her own Christmas cards. She has continued to do so. In 1981, she graduated with a Double major in English and Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. She studied English and earned a Master’s degree in English from Atlanta University, in 1984.Her thesis was “Investigations into Literature and Music: The Criticism of Ralph Ellison, Larry Neal, and Amiri Baraka. She earned a Doctor of Arts in Humanities degree from Clark Atlanta University, in 1991. Her dissertation was called, Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass and John Brown, in the writing of Robert Hayden, and the Painting of Jacob Lawrence. In 2018, she decided to become an artist, and she started taking classes at the Kirk Schroder Art Academy, in Charlottesville, Va. In 2020, she helped to start a blog called The Healing Racism Blog. Once a month she writes an article, and draws a political cartoon, usually about an article about how people can successfully fight racism, non- violently. The blog also has a quote of the month.
